Hot Hot Hockey Makes Lasting Mark on San Diego Roller Hockey

Look good, play good. It’s an adage as old as precision bearings themselves. When developing an elite summertime roller hockey league, we thought it critical that players not only look good, but feel good as well. This meant stylish uniforms that helped the players stand out while staying cool.

This made Hot Hot Hockey a perfect fit for our needs. With stellar stylistic vision and some of the most breathable jerseys in the game, Hot Hot Hockey has gone above and beyond as the uniform partner for the inaugural season of the San Diego Elite Draft League. In addition to accommodating pricing and smooth communication, Hot Hot Hockey provided the creative design to create the iconic uniforms that we know and love.

We sat down with founder of Hot Hot Hockey, Brian Arguijo, to learn more about the company and their future plans. Read to the end to see the promotion Hot Hot Hockey has available for San Diego Elite Draft League players and fans!

What motivated you to start Hot Hot Hockey?

Brian: I have a lot of love for roller hockey. I played roller hockey competitively, like many of us who are involved with the sport, and when I realized I could no longer keep up with the younger players, I wanted to stay involved in the game somehow.

I’m a graphic designer by nature, and I thought it would be cool to do uniforms and jerseys for my teams and my friends’ teams. It started off as a side passion project, but after about a year in, my business partner and I started to receive repeat business and it built momentum from there. We’re really excited about where we’re at now, and we’re letting people know that we’re here to stay.

What sets Hot Hot Hockey apart?

Brian: Our goal is top-notch customer service. We make the process of ordering jerseys simple and painless, and we make ourselves very accessible to customers.

We make lightweight, breathable jerseys that are affordable and accessible. We aim to help players feel great and look great in uniforms that are not too expensive. We also offer affordable one-off jerseys. So whatever your uniform vision, we’ll find a way to make it work.

Why the name Hot Hot Hockey?

Brian: I wanted a name where you couldn’t mistake what we were selling or involved in. With hockey in the name, there’s no mistaking what business we’re doing. Ultimately, it’s our goal to keep players cool and comfortable on the rink, so it’s kind of funny that our name is ‘hot hot,’ but that’s just the name. It’s easy to remember and catchy.

What’s next for the business?

Brian: We’re in a really exciting place. It’s great working with the San Diego Elite Draft League. We’re also working with RollerDad News and their weekly free agent list, and we’re sponsoring their NARCh Pro and Pama Pro segments.

The plan is to expand into other sports. We’re looking to branch out and have already been asked about soccer, softball, and roller derby. We know that our factory can produce those items, it’s just a matter of fine tuning some of the products to make sure they fit well and look good. The expansion into other sports will all fall under the larger company name, 34 Sports.

Anything else you’d like to share with the roller hockey community?

Brian: I want to thank the San Diego Elite Draft League for partnering with us for their inaugural season. I love going into rinks and seeing teams and players wearing our jerseys. We have a growing presence in the LA and Corona area, while Escondido and San Diego is fairly unchartered territory for us. Besides the Daygo Dinos who wear our stuff, and they went on to win the Advanced league championship at Kit Carson Park.

We are excited about the journey ahead, and if anyone needs the most breathable, lightweight uniforms, be sure to reach out to Hot Hot Hockey.
